Drilling Sizes
Different jobs require different types of drills. Winegar has a wide range drill types and bit sizes in many different shapes and sizes.
Drilling Processes
Drilling can also involve a wide variety of processes to accomplish different goals and objectives. Reaming is used to provide better tolerance of its diameter to improve surface finish. Tapping provides internal screw threads on an existing hole. Counterboring provides a step hole in which a larger diameter follows a smaller diameter into a hole; Countersinking is similar except the step in the hole is cone-shaped.
Hone
Our Sunnen Hones have the capacity of sizing diameters from .060" to 6.0” and we are currently tooled for .250” to 2.50” diameter range. We are constantly adding sizes.
Engineering Support from Winegar
At Winegar we have learned that to reduce production time and overall cost, a part should be designed such that it won't need to be repositioned or manually moved during the drilling process.
