Job description:

Role and Responsibilities

Set up and calibrate machines according to production specifications and engineering instructions.
Adjust machine settings to ensure precision and efficiency.
Load raw materials and test machine operation before full production.
Identify and resolve technical issues that may arise during the setup process.
Process First Part Approval.
Perform basic maintenance and repairs to ensure equipment functions properly.
Work with operators, engineers and quality control teams to optimize machine performance.
Prepare tooling, fixtures and machine for next production job.
Make sure all job documentation (drawing, job traveler, instruction sheet, control sheets) and gaging are at the workstation and up to date.
Assist foreman with development of set up/operator work instructions to include corrective actions.
Train operators on proper machine operating procedures and measuring techniques. Follow up to ensure operator has full understanding of job requirements.
Make sure the total job quantity required is completed before machine change over.
Return tooling/fixtures and gaging to proper location.
Communicate daily with other shifts.
Perform daily housekeeping activities to include keeping work area and workbench clean and clear of unusable material. Maintain a safe work area including keeping the aisle clean.
Promotes continuous improvement, operator certification, quality, productivity, adherence to ISO 9001 standard, teamwork, waste elimination and safety.
Other duties and special projects may be assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Required – High school diploma or GED
Desired – 2 yr Vo-tech degree on machining or related field

Self-starter able to work with minimal direction
Willingly accepts job challenges.
High mechanical aptitude, initiative and creativity is a must
Strong mechanical skills
Experience in operating on onsite equipment

Mental & Physical demands/working conditions

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Ability to understand drawing requirements.
Ability to understand measurement techniques.
Able to stand for extended periods with frequent bending or stooping.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a repetitive basis.
